HBS has added Jack Russell and Madison Mitchell as Associates to its Nebraska lobbying practice, bringing additional expertise in government affairs, regulatory compliance, and strategic communications to the office in Lincoln.
Jack joins the firm with experience spanning legal, policy, and government relations roles. Most recently, he served as a legal clerk at Union Pacific Railroad, where he researched regulatory compliance, antitrust matters, property disputes, and corporate governance issues. He previously worked as Policy and Research Coordinator for the Lincoln Independent Business Association, where he testified before city council and state legislative committees and coordinated meetings with elected officials. He earlier served in the Lincoln District Office of Congressman Jeff Fortenberry and on Governor Pete Ricketts’ staff.
Madison brings communications and consulting experience to the team. She recently graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications, where she earned Capstone Scholar recognition. During her studies, she worked at a national consulting firm to develop her understanding of the legislative process and gained corporate communications experience at Talkdesk, where she collaborated with communications teams on market research and messaging strategies.
“Jack and Madison bring energy, experience, and a genuine passion for public service,” said Dusty Vaughan, HBS Nebraska Managing Principal. “Their fresh perspectives will enhance the service we provide clients and expand our bench strength to better support our clients’ diverse needs.”
