Texas Lobbyist Honored by USLege’s 2025 Best in Government Affairs Awards

HB Strategies Texas Principal Mark Vane has been recognized as a top lobbyist in Texas. He was recently named a Top Hired Gun Lobbyist of the Year in Texas by USLege’s 2025 Best in Government Affairs Awards.

The peer-nominated recognition highlights the top twelve contract lobbyists whose work in Texas state government relations demonstrates consistent effectiveness and trusted client service.

Mark has practiced Texas government affairs for more than 27 years. As a Principal in the firm’s Austin office he represents clients on issues including health care, environmental policy, taxation, insurance, and financial services.

Mark has been recognized for his government relations work by Texas Super Lawyers and The Best Lawyers in America. Mark is board certified in Legislative and Campaign Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is among only 14 attorneys in the state who have received this certification. Before entering private practice, he served as a legislative director in the Texas House of Representatives, where he managed appropriations, insurance, and environmental legislation.
