The National Institute for Lobbying & Ethics (NILE) has named HBS Managing Principal Sarah Peters to its annual list of top lobbyists from across the United States. Sarah is one of only 21 state and federal lobbyists from large lobbying firms recognized on this year’s list. She was chosen based on her success in “working hard behind the scenes to enact meaningful change” and demonstrating a commitment to her community and the profession.
Sarah leads the Maryland office of Husch Blackwell Strategies and manages a diverse book of clients, including those focused on healthcare, transportation, and technology. Sarah’s expertise and accomplishments have garnered bipartisan respect across all levels of government in Maryland. Her ability to see the full picture while harmonizing strategies with client needs have positioned her as a go-to resource for clients seeking assistance and guidance on legislation, state budget matters, regulations, and procurement.
Nominations for the 2022 Top Lobbyists were submitted by colleagues, clients, and congressional staff and were evaluated blindly by a panel of lobbyists.
At today’s announcement Sarah said, “Lobbyists have a “nothing is impossible” mentality and it is this type of determination and strategic thinking that delivers successful outcomes to our clients. From advancing healthcare priorities, increased funding for transportation, and everything in between, 2022 was a productive year. Led by our in-depth experiences, relationships, and knowledge, our profession brings a one-of-a-kind skillset to navigating complex issues, maneuvering around barriers, and delivering results.”
