The Texas Board of Legal Specialization announced recently that HBS Principal Mark Vane has earned Board Certification in Legislative and Campaign Law. Mark is based in the HBS Texas office in Austin and is one of only thirteen attorneys in the state with the designation.

Mark helps clients develop public policy and tackle high-stakes issues at the Texas State Capitol and state agencies. His legislative practice focuses on healthcare, taxation, appropriations, business regulation, the environment and entertainment.

Board Certification is a voluntary designation program certifying Texas attorneys in 25 specific areas of law. Board Certified attorneys must be licensed for at least five years, devote a required percentage of practice to a specialty area for at least three years, attend continuing education seminars, pass an evaluation by fellow lawyers and judges and pass a 6-hour written examination.

Last year Mark was also recognized in the annual list of The Best Lawyers in America®, the fourteenth consecutive year that colleagues chose him for the list.
