Brad is a trusted strategist and advisor with more than 20 years of government affairs experience constructing and executing nationwide programs for prominent American companies and their C-Suite leadership. Brad’s success in building dynamic corporate advocacy networks across multiple jurisdictions and industries has helped solidify market leadership by influencing public policy while expanding and enhancing support from elected leaders and regulatory officials.
As Director of Government Affairs for Republic Services, a $15 billion dollar publicly traded company, Brad heightened its public affairs profile in the company’s priority markets through comprehensive education campaigns focused on key leaders in the Legislative and Executive branches of each state. During his tenure, Republic was recognized multiple times as one of Fortune’s World’s Most Admired Companies.
Brad earlier served as Director of Government Affairs for PetSmart where he built its national advocacy program from the ground up. Brad constructed a multi-faceted framework that included strategic planning, dedicated resources, relationship building, and compliance measures. He led the multi-state team of lobbyists for the $10 billion dollar privately held company on significant issues such as tax parity and customs and trade policy.
Prior to his corporate experience, Brad was selected as a Presidential Management Fellow at the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in Washington, DC. In this role, he served as a civil servant in DHS, the US State Department and US Customs & Border Protection. While in DC, Brad also consulted on long-term strategy and planning at FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
A Missouri native and lifelong Mizzou fan, Brad earned a bachelor’s from Westminster College (MO) and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He now lives in Phoenix with his wife and family.
