Clients rely on Sean’s keen understanding of the intricacies of the congressional legislative process that he gained from decades of experience on Capitol Hill, serving members of Republican Leadership in both the U.S. House and Senate. Sean most recently served as Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn, a position he earned after serving as the Senator’s Legislative Director. Sean’s Hill experience also includes staff positions with members of House Appropriations Committee and the Energy & Commerce Committee.

Born and raised in Kentucky, Sean moved to Washington, DC, after college.  With decades of experience on Capitol Hill, Sean has worked for members of Senate Republican Leadership, including Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Senator Roy Blunt (R-MO).  Additionally, Sean has worked for Representative Anne Northup (R-KY-03), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, and Senator Pat Robert (R-KS) – the first person to Chair both House and Senate Agriculture Committees.  He also served Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR-02) on the House Energy & Commerce Committee.  In 2019, Sean left the House to serve as Legislative Director for Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), and in May 2021 became her Chief of Staff.  In 2023, Sean retired from government service and now advises clients how to interact with Capitol Hill and the federal government.  He also teaches a seminar on Congress and Cybersecurity at the George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management.
