Tonya is an HR professional who brings more than two decades of experience to HB Strategies. With a strong understanding of both people and business, she supports all thirteen offices by making sure teams are set up for success from day one.

She oversees the employee onboarding process—working directly with new hires— making sure they feel supported as they settle into their roles. Tonya also advises employees on benefits and helping them make the best choices for their needs.

Beyond onboarding, Tonya oversees day-to-day HR operations including employment verifications and legal compliance, ensuring policies are applied uniformly and consistently, and that employees feel heard and supported.

Prior to joining HB Strategies, Tonya served as the office manager for Axiom Politics until the company merged with HB Strategies in January 2022 to become HB Strategies Colorado. During her tenure at Axiom, she oversaw daily operations, including financial responsibilities such as accounts payable and receivables. She also managed contracts from start to finish and collaborated with the secretary of state on lobbying and PAC disclosures, lobbying registrations, and fulfilled various human resources duties.

Tonya and her husband Leonard are proud natives of Colorado, and they cherish any opportunity to spend quality time with their children and grandchildren
