Husch Blackwell Strategies announced the newest member of its Colorado team, Elizabeth Lo, will be joining the Denver office as a Legislative Policy Director. Elizabeth will help clients develop comprehensive strategies to successfully navigate the legislative process and achieve their public policy goals. In addition to its Colorado office, the firm has state capital offices in Arizona, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas, Wisconsin and a federal practice group in Washington, D.C.
HBS Chairman Andy Blunt said, “Our goal is to provide clients with an exclusive advantage, which is why we are excited about the addition of Elizabeth as her knowledge and expertise of the legislative process brings a powerful resource to the team.”
HBS CO Managing Principal Micki Hackenberger noted, “Elizabeth’s experience at the State Capitol brings valuable insight that will be important to our clients’ interests and goals.”
Before joining HBS CO, Elizabeth spent eight years serving as the budgetary policy director for the Colorado Senate Republicans specializing in matters pertaining to the Joint Budget Committee. Her strengths include the ability to break down complex ideas on the state budget process and effectively communicate each piece.
Elizabeth has worked at the forefront of significant policy battles in Colorado for nearly a decade and through that experience has built a trusted network of policymakers, legislative staff, and other government affairs professionals. Prior to her position as policy director, Elizabeth was the legislative aide for State Senator John Cooke where she first began to build her expertise in public policy. She earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Colorado Denver.
HBS CEO Gregg Hartley added, “HBS is committed to provide the best service to clients. Elizabeth and our accomplished professionals across all eight state offices and DC are fully equipped to make sure that happens.”
HBS has added 12 new state office professionals this year and an additional six more to the federal practice group in D.C.
